This book was packed with drama. Becca is truly amazing. After watching her father beat her little sister to death at the age of ten she gets her brother to safety and calls the police for help. His crime haunts her and her brother, Chad, for the rest of their childhood. Her mom is resentful and an alcoholic who Becca ends up taking care of as well. Becca leaves for college and meets a new family and find love in Levi. When Chad ends up in trouble trying to make money to keep the house, Levi's parents step in and show Becca what a true family is meant to be. This was a very sad but heartwarming story.
